I knew skipping was a good idea
I've been doing a good job of ignoring BaRE for the most part but every once in awhile I hear something. It's usually something that makes me glad I didn't get this series. The Harper thing is one of those reasons.
The reveal is a slap in the face to the idea that that B&R Eternal is meant to celebrate Robin's 75th anniversary and has only made me put Harper in my blacklist of characters I simply can't stand.
What is it with DC promoting new "Robins" at the expense of others? The reveal also screwed the Everyman type of feel she had going. I want to like Harper but this is the sort of crap that makes me avoid books altogether.
Writers aren't subtle in their bias. Stating a character is more important than everyone else despite doing nothing to prove it doesn't endear me to the character. Nor does them being perfect at everything.

Nothing wrong with the old Robins for Pete's sake!
ReplyDeleteExactly, they should work with the current ones before they start working on new/retconned ones.
