Yes, Alfred uses guns

Recently I saw someone argue about Alfred using guns...he's been using them for years and has no problems killing if need be. One of the most memorable times was when he actually shot Rip Hunter and tried to shoot Booster Gold and Michelle.

Alfred Pennyworth: Perhaps you relied on my master's vow against lethal force. Let me assure you that I subscribe to no such niceties. 

Comic Canon Always Changes

Reading through the older runs certain things pop up and I always wondered why they made the changes. This one is in regards to Catherine Todd.

I love October and there's a few comics I love reading around this time of year. I haven't read many horror comics so most of theses are superheroes choices.

The Many Parents of Jason Todd

Because he has a lot. This is not counting all the people that had parental bonds with him. Just the ones that are either his birth parents, adopted or by marriage.

Ma Gunn

I'm so glad this character is still around because this is the woman that ran a crime school Batman put Jason in. This was her lesson plan:

This was her teaching her students (Jason seen between the two kids) to say no to smoking.

Although she was fine with kids drinking.

Despite Bruce basically putting Jason in the worst place possible Jason escaped and the rest is history.

Rip Hunters' Blackboard

I miss Michelle, Booster and Rip but it's been a long time since we saw the blackboard. In fact I think this is the last time we saw one filled out, with the last time we see it being when it was written. Sure it was vague and usually had nothing to do with what we'd see in the series but it was fun. I also love the idea that (except for this board) Rip writes these out as cryptically as he can so Booster has no idea what he's talking about.

Favorite Origin of a Superhero Name

I love that Booster got so nervous that he accidentally said his football nickname then the president cuts him off before he can completely correct himself. Booster just decides to own the mistake and the rest is history.

Is Superman patting his head?

Or ruffling his hair? Either way their not that well acquitted at this point.

Legends Jason Todd

Not even nearly getting killed by an angry hero hating mob stops him. This has a much happier ending than you'd expect.

Why the scaly panties made no sense

Poor Jason got stuck with Dicks' costume and has to suffer for it.

Jason gets through to Raven

Brother Blood has brainwashed Raven into thinking he's great and no one can snap her out of it. Except Jason when he shows her what BB did to her mother.

There's a lot of things I love about this simple moment. Jason is the one that decides to stay behind away from the fighting to look after Ravens' mom. Since we know what happens with his own mother it's heartbreaking. But what's really frustrating is that Geoff Johns later retcons the way things were. Saying that Raven warned Jason about his anger when he was one of the few that had it together during his Titan days. She owes him not the other way around!

Donna abandons her leadership

She does so after she cracks under the stress and hands the responsibility of the team over to Robin.

Only this isn't Dick Grayson, it's Jason Todd who's on his very first mission with the team. The kid Donna keeps treating like Dick. It's a good issue with all the experienced members dealing with their own personal issues. The ridiculous nature of the Robin costume is even brought up.

The Tough Street Kid

Just look at how tiny he is.

 

You can just imagine Batman thinking over taking in another sidekick.

Donna Troy vs. Nightwing

A.K.A. One of the times people forgot Dick can get nasty.

 

Jason Todd vs. Mimes

The upcoming Red Hood/Arsenal #2 has the guys fighting mimes which of course got a WTF reactions from many. It's not the first time Jason fought a mime although it sounds like it won't be connected to the adventure from his Robin days. I just hope Lobdell keeps Jasons' canon reaction to fighting mimes.

Nightwing tells Bette to Quit

What is it with blonde Batgirls getting told to hang up their capes because no one thinks their good enough? While she may not be Batgirl in canon (who know with Morrison) Bette's post-crisis self was inspired by the first Robin Dick Grayson. He wasn't really impressed with what he saw.

Bette of course isn't going to give up even if her idol said she wasn't good enough. This led to her other Flamebird costume which was replaced for Hawkfire not too long ago.

Happy Fathers' Day!

What better way to celebrate it than to remember one of the best if most unconventional father/son relationships in comics?

 

Booster Gold and Rip Hunter!

Remember how Rip was trying to help Booster become the greatest most selfless hero of all time? How about how annoying that could be?

 

Then the utter amazement when Booster was able to do something by himself?

 

I miss these two more than any other DC relationship.

This raises so many questions. Does Scott think that no one will believe he's having sex unless he sends them a picture after the act? Did he send all the X-Men/his brother this or just Xavier? Who took the photo?!

Cyclops' Love Life Summed up in a Panel

Right after Scott asks Madelyne Pryor if she's really Phoenix/Jean Grey. Later on he'll run out on her and their infant son. Then much later he'll cheat on Jean with Emma Frost. Logan has more class around the ladies than Scotty does.
