I wish I could care about Alfred dying. DC has made the constant deaths and rebirths in the bat family such a joke that prior to reading these solicits I forgot he died. Nevertheless I'm glad Tomasi is handling this instead of King. Are any other titles touching this before Alfred is brought back for when Doomsday Clock takes place?

Does this mean that #41 is still listed early January? It'd be nice to get it before the new year, at least on digital. This solicit has me worried. My first concern is if the series is ending on #50. If that's true the team members status will be up in the air (and I really don't want Artemis or Bizarro to go to the Superman or Wonder Woman offices.) Which also makes it unlikely that Artemis and Jason will start anything. I'm hoping that the fact Jason is seeing Isabel is treated with enough respect to at least break Isabel/Jason up officially if they think about going further.
I'm not too optimistic on the Jason/Artemis relationship going forward since Lobdell doesn't seem too interested in it and the wording in the solicit. Plus the unresolved plot point where Artemis thinks Jason will hate her for her past (does she think she killed his dad?) It's sad because I really got invested in them over the course of the series despite not originally wanting them to be a couple. To just not go through with it feels extremely anticlimactic. More so since I can't buy Jason with Isabel since she's still so underdeveloped as a character and he's not being honest about still being a vigilante. If this was a delay it could work to explore her issues with her past, etc.
I've seen three different opinions on what the solicit means. One person seems to think this means Jason and Artemis will be an official couple. Another believes it sounds like their both say no. And then there's the third option, Jason will want to move on while Artemis will want a relationship. I think it will be the other way around given her fears of her past but you never know.

This arc will decide if I stick with the series. Can the characters redeem themselves? Will there be consequences for their actions ? I've always asked if any of these characters will have to face the consequences but it bears repeating because they still haven't learned from their mistakes. Well, maybe Roundhouse has but he was the one that acknowledged how screwed up their actions were. He just went too extreme to get them to listen and lost his temper with Damian. Although all of that is at least understandable.
I've gotten the impression that DC is hinting at Damian takings a darker direction so it seems like he might not listen to the reasons why he's in the wrong. There's also the fact no one ever removes Damian despite him not being right for the role as leader. His team hates him? Sure but their still follow his lead even though they know he's wrong. That's not believable in the least and actually makes me want to drop the title. It's predictable instead of dramatic since no one believes anything important will ever come from this in terms of his growth.
I've been hearing about various problems at DC for awhile now but with all these cancellations and delays. With the shortening of Birds of Prey there really feels like the issues within the company are getting worse. Rumors of egos and refusal to work together have been floating around for some time. Whatever the case may be something isn't working out behind the scenes.
