Toyfair thoughts

There wasn't much that stood out at Toyfair, at least not with the DC things. (Well maybe if you like statues I don't collect them.) The character selection mostly put me off with the exception of the non-new 52 Lady Shiva which sadly is part of a three pack. I was hoping for more of the Capullo line and Lil' Gotham. On the Lego side we still don't have a Jason figure although Starfire has one that's bases on the cartoon with pinkish hair. No Booster either. Well at least Firefly is finally getting some action figure love.

Convergence Figures?

Apparently since there are three waves based on older character designs. Batman and Superman have their panties on once more! Wonder Woman is suspiciously absent although there may be more waves to come. These look nice but I won't be getting any since their not my favorite characters. I did consider Blue Beetle Jamie Reyes but I think the Mattel one has a better look to it.

Booster Golds' Importance In Convergence

Briefly mentioned in the JLI interview:

Nrama: You mentioned that some characters are busy "elsewhere," and the solicitation didn't mention Booster Gold. But it just seems odd to have "Blue" there without the "Gold." We know Booster is in Convergence somewhere. Any chance for a reunion?

Marz: Booster plays a pivotal role in Convergence as a whole, so there are quite a few demands for his presence across the event.

That said, however, you're right — it seems like there should be some sort of Blue and Gold moment, doesn't it?

Yeah but aren't there more Boosters? Well it's nice to hear that Booster has a pivotal role and a lot of demands for this event.

Believability of the Robins Origins

I saw the new origins of the Robins being debated about and one thing stuck out at me. Not the new origins (which I can accept even if I don't like some details) but the arguing of the old origins. We'll be ignoring the circus kid and assassin child back stories for this one.

If you can believe that a 13 year old Tim Drake can figure out Batman's ID then what's so unbelievable about a 12 year old Jason Todd stealing the wheels off the Batmobile? Hell Winick even gave a reason for Jason being able to do this which is more than I ever saw given for Tim. I have no problem excepting either even with Batman being considered "flawless" in these matters. Since I read the post-crisis origin I can also tell you another reason Jason was able to do this--Batman was visiting crime alley on the anniversary of his parents. Not only was he distracted but it's stated in the issue that no one dared to do any crime on that night because they knew Batman would be there. That's why what Jason did was so gutsy and the fact that he did it actually made Bruce laugh in crime alley on the night his parents were killed.

I just realized...

That Batwoman wasn't on the list of new books/relaunch series. Are they just shelving the characters until they can come up with a relaunch or will she be appearing somewhere else?

C-C-Changes to DC

As expected DC will undergo big changes after the big two month event. So my thoughts on the 24 new or revamped titles ahead.

News I heard recenty

For some reason Barbara Gordon is going to be on the live action Teen Titans show. I was thinking of trying it out but the love triangle and her unneeded presence makes this a pass for me.

Then the interview for the Convergance Batman and Robin arc.
