Donnas' costume looks different, I'm not sure if it's black pants or a shadow. Roy seems to be wearing the same costume (except the hat) from RHATO which makes ZERO sense. Is Dick the youngest one there? I'll never get used to the idea of a Robin having a uniform that has an arrow pointing to the crotch. Not even Roy does that with his current arrow themed looks.

That cover ain't half bad, although it makes an utter MESS of the poor continuity we had of the N52's titans. According to Kori's flashbacks that team was formed when Dick was Nightwing already.
ReplyDeleteWho's the black guy by the way? It looks like he's just there to make up for Cyborg's absence.
Red Hood and the Outlaws had already made a mess out of continuity, and it's a good thing that most DC writers are basically ignoring it. This book is basically going to fix up Titans history, and hopefully make characters like Donna and Roy tolerable again.
DeleteAnd cool it with the racism. Mal Duncan was part of the 70s Teen Titans team. He pre-dates Cyborg by a decade.
Tynion made a mess out of canon when he wrote RHATO. If you mean the team with Kori, Roy and Dick that was confirmed canon by the Grayson team in Secret Origins. DC is ignoring a lot of series canon from book to book basically ignoring everything. That's not good. That means characters are rarely consistent.
DeleteI can't speak for Donna but I find Roy very likable. Certainly vastly superior to what they did to Roy at the end of the last canon. His genius status gives him a niche apart from Ollie.
I think he just assumed it was a new character.
RHATO's Roy is the first time I've cared for the character and Abnet has going to record saying that he won't ignore the N52 story of the characters, he'll just gonna fit the story of the team within it.
DeleteI don't know the character. Never cared about the Titans before RHATO.
Everyone's memories are already a mess. I think the team Kori remembers happened later on after she came to Earth. Likely around the time Jason was Robin. They never actually gave an exact date when a team was formed.
ReplyDeleteThe Hornblower guy I think, he's filling in for Wally. Cyborg came in the same time as Kori in the old universe. They also mention Hawk and Dove so maybe they come in a little later and we see different groups.
Preview is out and on just two pages Abnett destroys everything Lobdell did with Roy.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm dreading it. I preordered a few issues so hopefully it won't be too bad. I might skip out on seeing the preview to read everything together when I get my issues next week.
ReplyDeleteThe worst thing? Is edited by the same team as RH/A.
ReplyDeleteThat is bad. I guess Lobdell was setting it up that things would change?
ReplyDeleteAfter reading the newest solicits. I simply don't know anymore
ReplyDeleteOh great... now that I have seen that arrow pointing at Robin's crotch, I can't unset it.
ReplyDeleteDT: It looks like another wait and see. Given how frustrating comic in general have been lately it's hard to be positive about this.
ReplyDeleteSally: Sorry Sally. It's just one of those things I can't believe they did. Although to be fair it makes sense that this was the design Dick settled on.
