Well I did find one "new" thing that I'm thrilled is being released.
BLACK MASK: YEAR OF THE VILLAIN #1
written by TOM TAYLOR
art by CULLY HAMNER
cover by MITCH GERADS
Black Mask was one of Gotham City’s most ruthless crime lords. He had money, power and respect. But after months in the Teen Titans’ secret prison, Roman Sionis is finally free. Given a new purpose and new abilities thanks to Lex Luthor’s offer, he’s found a new racket. Corporate crime not only pays better, but it’s far less dangerous. At least until Batwoman discovers what he’s up to and plans to put an end to Black Mask’s latest power grab. Is Black Mask the same crime boss he’s always been, or has time and a new approach made him something far more unstoppable than he’s ever been?
ON SALE 08.14.19
If this was cheaper I might get it for Batwoman and the creative team. Although I'd think he'd rather get revenge on the TT.
EVENT LEVIATHAN #3
written by BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS
art and cover by ALEX MALEEV
variant cover by JAY ANACLETO
From the award-winning team of writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Alex Maleev, it’s DC’s biggest whodunit in years! The world’s greatest detectives—Batman, Green Arrow, Lois Lane, Plastic Man, the Question and Martian Manhunter—have gathered to solve the mystery behind the true identity of Leviathan’s leaders and the destruction of the world’s top intelligence agencies! Red Hood is their leading suspect—and he is on the loose! Plus, the Silencer takes her shot! This mystery will unleash a new evil on the DC Universe!
ON SALE 08.14.19
Okay here's a real question for anyone that follows Bendis: is he ever obvious with his direction? I'm not a fan of what I've read but I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt that he's not this obvious. Remember House of M? Wasn't that built up as a world Magento created via Scarlet Witch until it was revealed that he wasn't behind it? Why would he give away the ID of the big bad in the 25 cent comic and still be talking about Red Hood being a suspect in #3? If he is why make a big deal about it like it's a secret? Is Jason mainly brought in by Lex to be a fall guy?
TEEN TITANS #33
written by ADAM GLASS
art by SEAN CHEN
cover by BERNARD CHANG
variant cover by ALEX GARNER
In the wake of the Terminus Agenda and Crush’s first encounter with Lobo, the Teen Titans begin again at Mercy Hall with a new mission and a new lease on life. But just when they catch their first break in ages in their hunt for the Other, Robin confirms that the person who let his prisoners escape…was one of his teammates. As Robin’s hunt for the mole begins, Lobo accepts a gift from Lex Luthor…and an unholy alliance is born!
ON SALE 08.21.19
I'm glad Damian is finally investigating the mole. I'm not sure if I want to know what Lobo is getting. I can see it being either extremely violent or sexual...maybe both.
RED HOOD: OUTLAW #37
written by SCOTT LOBDELL
art and cover by KENNETH ROCAFORT
variant cover by PHILIP TAN
Leave it to Red Hood to get Lex Luthor’s strangest offer of all: to train the next generation of super-villains! Hand-picked for their incredible talents, not to mention their potential to spread villainy and doom across the globe. As the only super-villain in the world to have trained under Batman himself, Red Hood is the ideal instructor. But has Jason Todd fallen so far that he’d take on the task of forging tomorrow’s Legion of Doom or Crime Syndicate—or is he trying to work from within to undermine Lex’s villainous machinations? Even if Red Hood’s heart is in the right place, he still has to butt heads with his powerful and dangerous new pupils. Grab some ammo and settle in for the beginning of the next generation of Outlaws!
ON SALE 08.28.19
Did this get moved to the last week of the month? Why?
But as I recently said elsewhere this solicit is odd. The offer is to train these students? How is this a gift? Lex would be getting what he wanted but what about Jason?
BOOSTER GOLD: THE BIG FALL HC
written by DAN JURGENS
art by DAN JURGENS and MIKE DeCARLO
cover by DAN JURGENS
These are the 1980s tales that introduced Booster Gold, the glory-hungry hero who traveled back in time from the 25th century to become a superhero called Goldstar—but manages to mangle both his mission and his name, winding up with the oddball name by which he is known. In these stories, while battling rad 1980s super-villains, Booster attempts to line up endorsement deals with limited success. Collects BOOSTER GOLD #1-12 in color for the first time, plus design material, unpublished story pages and more.
ON SALE 09.25.19
$39.99 US | 320 PAGES
The hype is real for this and you better believe I plan on getting it. Still it's a shame that it takes something like HIC to get this printed.
In other news it looks like the DC Essential line is still active which is surprising. I know some people that have been waiting for a figure of Catwoman in that costume so good for them. I'm not getting any of these but I'm curious if Red Hood will be in a wave. So far it's the only figure in the series that's listed to ship by it's self.
