The Crowbar

I think it's fair to ask about this by now.

Namely where Jason got it and what it means that he's using it. I've seen two different people online claim that it's the same crowbar that Joker used to beat Jason with. Last time we saw that Dick had taken it from an auction and told Alfred to throw it in the river. Since Jason has added it to his arsenal he's met three members of the bat family: Bruce, Kate and Damian.

I took note that Jason did not have it strapped onto him in the diner when Bruce approached him. Jason was dressed as a civilian not Red Hood. Unless Bruce had been tracking Jason down when the Underlife investigation was being done he shouldn't be aware of it yet.

There was some speculation on my part of the timing of Kate's arrival. I wondered if Bruce might have asked her to check up on Jason. When Kate arrives Jason is dressed as Red Hood but the town took away his weapons. If it is the crowbar and he is still using it then Jason must have looked for it before he left town. Whether or not she knows the history with the crowbar she couldn't tell Bruce anyway because she only saw Jason use improvised weapons.

Damian is the only one of the three that definitely knows Jason has been fighting with a crowbar. He hasn't been seen asking on panel about it and if he did we'd miss it since they have been working together for awhile when the readers find out about the partnership. Since Damian isn't on speaking terms with Bruce it's not something he'd mention.

I feel like this is/should be building up to something that clues everyone into Jasons' current dark state of mind. That it's a warning sign that is either not seen or ignored. It doesn't have to be the same one Joker used to be concerning. The crowbar was apparently left behind after Jason used it to kill Solitary. At least it looked that way but given his powers it might have been a fake out. But to the best of my knowledge Jason hasn't gone out in uniform in Gotham except when he scared Penguin into fleeing into the panic room.
