    I get the impression that people who like King's writing didn't "know" the characters before King got his pen on them and won't give them a second thought once he and they are gone. Which, frankly, is about as much thought as King gives to them.

    Right, like the essay said King only cares about his story. Someone pointed out that Roy's retcon about his addiction was pointless because that was what happened with Citizen Steel, another victim.

    I am amused that King might be salty because he has to actually acknowledge another book's continuity though.
