Trinity #14

More of the arc that thus far as the Outlaws possessed. The magic trio except possibly Constantine being useless. Ra's Al Ghul being overly powerful to the point he stabbed four of the heroes three of whom are far more powerful than him. The new 52 version of Circe. And the Trinity who are bland except for drama Bruce has over Jason.

SPOILERS AHEAD

I'm actually very curious how or if this arc will properly explain Circe not being the Rebirth version. New 52 Circe wanted revenge on Diana because of wrongs Hippolyta supposedly did to her. PĂ©rez had Circe get her power from Hecate's soul and worried that a prophecy about Diana would led to her losing everything. I don't think Rebirth Circe met her under Rucka. I could be wrong but I recall her mostly being involved with Cale. This version says she was a beautiful woman with powerful magic that could influence men but lost her soul along the way.

She tried to get bee soul back by sacrificing her love and apparently has been trying ever since. Which is probably why the Trinity dying appeals so much to her beyond Diana's death. I know it's not saying much but this is one of the more intriguing plots in this arc. I'd rather read more about it than the actual Trinity. Speaking of them Batman and Wonder Woman fight a Superman possessed by Deadman possessed by a demon.

Wait Diana claims it's the pits. Artemis' demon claimed it was Circe last issue. Batman suggests he's the most powerful of the Trinity. Ha, no. I like Bruce but enough with overpowering him. Also Kryptonite doesn't hurt Bizarro. In RHATO it healed him and before that it was the blue kind not the green. Batman can't understand why Constantine didn't save Deadman. Diana thinks he either failed or ran. Do either of them know that he's a trickster character ? There is a third option.

Diana, the one that knows magic and usually Circe better than Bruce tells him to solve it. No, stop Amazon Attacking the plot by suggesting that. Bruce says he needs to study someone possessed and Diana has Jason in the lasso again despite Bruce saying to focus on Superman last issue. And while Jason previously needed at least two of the trio to hold him down he now only needs one. Didn't Bruce knock Artemis out ?

That drawing a line bit was corny.

Demon possessed Jason decides to go a different route in messing with Bruce by being critical of his costume and suggesting he's a killer. Which Jason wouldn't do. Bruce cuts Jason's jacket to run the chemicals from the pit on his computer.

It's nice to see Constantine and Zatanna care for each other.

Yeah I know what Bruce means but did anyone buy him suggesting he'd kill them ? Really? Bruce can use science against magic now ?  Even with a syringe he has to be dramatic. Ra's himself is dramatic and acts like he's actually a threat to a powerful witch with his knife. I didn't buy it with the last four he stabbed and I don't believe it against Circe. Naturally she defeats him admitting she sold her soul and she'll sacrifice the world to get it back.

This issue had a lot of cheesy but the Circe stuff made it a bit more bearable. It was bad but still better than some scans I read from other comics.

Questions Asked : Does the artist realise Bizarro picked Wonder Woman up not Superman ? The coloring and the backwards symbol prove this. The dialogue isn't the bad backwards talk that's been forced in this arc.

So no other heroes are in Gotham and their not calling the League in ?

Is the image of Batman dragging a demon Jason how the current DC writers see the character ? I get that impression.

Why change tactics when Demon Jason was getting to Bruce by talking like he was actually Jason  ?

Does Constantine not have magic when Circe is around ? I'm guessing it's a trick.

Why didn't Batman knock Jason out like Artemis ? What happened to her ?

Why was Deadman freed from the possession ? Wouldn't they want Superman controlled ? Possible Constantine plan in action ?
