Golden Cameos: Millennium #6

Outside title "The Dreaming" inside "Out" just like I guessed. To be fair this is the only thing that's been predictable so far.

OLDER SPOILERS AHEAD

Weekly Comic List

Okay technically this is for next week. Both of these were previously delayed which is why I'm getting comics earlier in the month.

  • Forever Evil #6: Preview shown here. I'm really bored with this one but with two issues left something is bound to happen. Right? While I recently compared this to Millennium neither are the worst books I've read recently but I still wish this would get interesting. Dicks' "fate" is supposed to be revealed here. If I knew it would take so long to get to the reason I bought this mini series I wouldn't have bothered.
  • Batman/Superman Annual #1: I believe this has a few artists listed meaning the art was the reason for the many delays. I'm curious to see how much canon this follows since it'll be using elements that will surely touch upon past and recent stories. From the Man who has Everything to the wedge between Bruce and Jason due to stupidity on the formers' side. Plus the death in the Bat and Super families. I wasn't impressed with the previews from the crossover with Worlds' Finest but I'm still hoping this will be good.

Red Hood and the Outlaws #28

The last issue of Tynions' RHATO run. Will this do justice to Isabels' character and her relationship with Jason. Or will this be a unsatisfying read?

SPOILERS AHEAD

Golden Cameos: Millennium #5

Cover title "The Teaching", nonsensical inside title "In." I'm going to take a stab in the dark and guess that next issue will be "Out."

Golden Cameos: Millennium #4

Cover title is "The Choice." Inside titles have been "Over", "Under", "Back" and "Forth." Which should give you some idea of what the direction has been like in this series.

Worlds' Finest #20 and Batman/Superman #8 previews

Well I expected to dislike the WF preview but B/S has given me a reason to worry about it's writing in the annual.

Batman/Superman Annual Covers

This was the Batman/Superman cover for the annual:

I thought it did a good job showing the two families fighting and honoring the dead in the background. Here's the new cover:

Weekly Comic List

Still waiting on last weeks' issue to come in the mail and this haul won't come until next week.

  • Lois Lane #1: A one shot about DCs' favorite reporter. If this sells well there's a good chance of a Lois ongoing so of course I'm going to support this. I rather read it than Superman/Wonder Woman, that's for sure.
  • Serenity Leaves on the Wind #2: Everyone is looking for the crew and their racing off to save one members' life. Now that we have the set up let's see some more action.

Booster Gold #24 (Volume 1)

The last arc is a tie into Millennium so prepare for things not making sense.

OLDER SPOILERS AHEAD

DC Collectibles: Green Arrow

I normally get actions figures every now and then. This year I'm planning to get a lot of them, far more than my normal two or three. Since there's going to be a new 52 Arsenal I decided to get a new 52 Green Arrow.

Golden Cameos: Millennium #3

"The Gathering" a.k.a. "Back." Once again the cover title makes more sense the one found inside. Unless the titles found inside are forming a message. "Over", "Under" and "Back." ...All I can come up for is places comic book readers look for to hide these issues in shame. Maybe next issue will give a little more insight to what the creators are thinking. Or maybe it will be just as confusing as the content inside the comic it's self.

Golden Cameos: Millennium #2

What is it with this series having two titles? One on the cover and one inside? This one's "The Summoning" and "Under" but at least the ones on the cover make sense in the context of the story. Last issue ended with the Manhunter agents (still no idea how that works) revealing themselves to the heroes which is where this one starts off.

The Bat Boys vs Shiva

Cassandra Cain was arguably DCs' best fighter and still had to earn her worth in combat with Lady Shiva. Let's see how her adopted brothers did and how having certain writers makes all the difference when taking on the woman that's better than Batman.

New Solicits

There wasn't much that I want to buy and unless something new is brought in next month that doesn't look like it's going to change anytime soon. Just my thoughts on some of the upcoming books.

Even MORE action figures from DCC!

These weren't showcased during Toyfair, at least not in the photos I saw, so here they are.

Bunny DC characters?

Or "Labbit", there's a Batman, Red Hood and others. There's also Kidrobot versions with them smiling. I'm not sure if these are really cute or a little scary. Well the Labbits are kind of scary while the Kidrobots are cute.

Short Reviews: Forever Evil #5 and Batman #28

FE was on my pull list but it was delayed so I finally got around to getting it. While at my LCS I decided to get Batman #28 to see if it lived up to the hype.

Favorite RHATO Scenes: Jasons' Most Cherished Memory

The scene that even a lot the series critics liked.

Golden Cameos: Millennium #1

A picture can tell a thousand words, right? So when the start of your mini series has a cover of your heroes looking terrified and in a few cases confused that should be a warning sign. I'm mostly going in blind on this one since I never read this series prior just read up on the basic plot. On the front it has "The Arrival" in bold text but the inside has another title that seems to give better insight to how the creators felt. It conveys a simple message I'm sure many readers wished when reading this series and knowing there were seven more issues to go.

Weekly Comic List

I was going to get Batman/Superman Annual #1 but that's been delayed twice for some reason. Anyway there's only one ongoing book I'm getting this week.

Red Hood and the Outlaws #28: I ordered this one online because I decided it wasn't worth visiting the comic book store. I've been delaying when I read these issues lately due to disliking Tynions' writing. Thankfully this is the last one in this run although I'm worried how he'll write Isabel and Jasons' relationship with her. After this I hope he doesn't write these characters again. I know it's likely with Batman Eternal but that's how I feel after reading this never ending run. I'm just tired of this mess and a little sad.

DCC 2014 Solicits

It looks like none of my selections on my most wanted list were picked. Still there's some good looking figures here, along with some that just look weird and certain characters getting more figures.

Why I dislike Dick Grayson with Barbara Gordon and Koriand'r

After writing why I don't care for Wonder Woman and Superman (besides preferring him with Lois) I was reminded of another love triangle. One where I didn't want to see anyone getting together.

Very Short Review: Serenity Leaves on the Wind #1

Red Hood and the Outlaws #27

While this is thankfully the last issue of this tedious arc there's still one more issue that Tynion writes after this.

The Odds of my list being Made?

Since a lot of characters from my most wanted list are being made into action figures I decided to look at the ones that haven't made it yet. Toyfair is coming up so we should get some idea soon. What are the chances? Let's take a look at the odds based on their appearances in DCU or their returns.

Golden Cameos: Action Comics #594

Originally Booster Gold was going to be closely linked to the Man of Steel mythos. The museum he worked at was going to be a Superman museum, which meant many of the items he took were going to be things from the lore. But Superman was being rebooted and as a way to make it up to Dan Jurgens DC agreed to do a crossover between the two heroes.

Booster Gold #22 (Volume 1)

Justice League International joins Booster and Michelle is in peril as the series prepares to wrap up.

Michelle Carter/Goldstar 2: You just can't ever be subtle, can you?
Booster Gold: Absolutely not! It's one of my better traits!
Skeets: That's debatable.

Favorite RHATO Scenes: Roy speaks from the Heart

Granted that's all Roy does in the book but I'm combing two specific scenes on this one.

I wonder if there are any good Ryand'r stories

I've read a fair amount of stories with Starfire and Blackfire but not so much about their brother. I know he was part of the Omega Men but I'm only interested in stories where he's out of the background. Something that focuses on Ryand'r. He hasn't shown up in the new 52 but that doesn't mean he doesn't exist.

He sure sticks out in this picture. I always got a kick out of the men wearing less than the woman on Tamaran and hope he keeps this trend if/when he appears.

DCC talks about the potential of Scribblenauts figures

First it was a game now it as a comic series and an upcoming line of toys. I know I talked about this before but I'm hoping this line is successful.

Booster Gold # 21 (Volume 1)

Within the last few issues it becomes clear that Jurgens felt compelled to tie up loose ends which often comes across as rushed. Whether rumors of the higher ups telling him to sever all connections Booster had are true or not he nevertheless gives one more of a build up than the others. This is also known as Michelles' exist arc. Let's see how it was handled.

OLDER SPOILERS AHEAD

Bruce and Talia

I'm not thrilled with what was done with Talias' character but I'd like to think this was the real reason they broke up. She's just awful at gift giving, even Bruce expects her to give him body parts.

I also love that it's not the fact he hates guns due to his parents death that bothers him as much as the fact he can't use the gift.

Favorite RHATO Scenes: Starfire and Blackfire talk

Lobdell was asked to change the characters some for the new 52, some worked some didn't. I think his take of Blackfire and her relationship to Kori was one of his better changes. This moment helped seal that for me.
