Super Sons #11

Super Sons of Tomorrow Part Two continues the story of Batman Tim Drake trying to end Jon's life.

SPOILERS AHEAD

It's explained that Jon will act as a bomb that will destroy a large part of Metropolis. Jon has snuck out before Tim can do anything and helps the TT. I thought Starfire was in charge now but I guess we're expected to suspend our disbelief that they would still take orders from Damian? Because I still don't buy it. Instead of handling Jon joining their battle reasonably Damian knocks him out and barely gives Starfire enough time to catch him. And no, I don't think Starfire would have taken the impact of catching Jon that hard. She's been able to catch heavier things falling from greater heights without them sending her onto her back. At their headquarters Jon calls Damian out on his previous promises.

Gar doesn't like Damian making promises without them voting on it as a team. Damian finally admits he lied and future Tim makes his appearance. Damian explains who it is and the TT rightfully get pissed that he didn't share information. Seriously, why is he still the leader when everyone always complains ?

Tim lets Raven read his thought to know about the future. He tries to stop Jon in the present but Jon freaks out over the black substance used to contain him and flies up to avoid killing them all. He explodes and everyone else is knocked out. Future Conner, Cassie and Bart have arrived looking for Tim.

Overall: I don't like this one as much as the first part. Damian continues to make no sense as leader as others (Starfire) are far better suited for the role. It makes their complaints all the more nonsensical since they should have kicked him out by now if they still don't care for him in command. I have no idea why anyone puts up with him and at this point there needs to be a reason besides DC just saying to do it. The same could be said for the "friendship" between Jon and Damian.

I dropped this title some issues back but it still feels like Damian is using Jon rather than a partnership. He's also proves to be a bad influence as Jon breaks the rules more as he snuck out without informing Lois. I recall Damian's line issues ago about it being better to beg for forgiveness rather than ask for permission.

Tim just manages to do things without any real logic. I know Tim is kind of on a time table until Bruce gets better or informs others of his presence but this is how he approaches the situation? He lets the TT know about his mission then attacks? There wasn't a way to take some of them out first? Instead of stopping Jon he ends up triggering his power earlier. Not quite the plan of a genius.

The only thing I'm really looking forward to is the rest of Tim's team arriving. Hopefully it gets better.

Questions Raised?: How the hell can Tim "will" himself in the present when Hypertime is trying to push him out? That makes zero sense unless his body can literally control time.

How can Tim prevent NU Wally and Raven from using their powers? It's sort of hand waved away as Tim just being able to do that. But it makes less sense for Raven and she's still able to use other powers.
