Didio talks about Stephanie Brown & other missing characters

That bit about her being Robin just to kill her off is still a crappy move. But anyway interview here.

  1. Well...that was interesting. I have to say, that he does sound like a Comic book executive, because as horrible as it is...it makes a certain amount of sense to make her a better character...to make people care more when she dies. But just because it makes monetary sense, doesn't mean that I have to like it.

  2. According to the writer of Cassandra Cains' book they were really creepy about the whole thing. Not to mention how they drew her in sexualized poses while she was being tortured or the victim blaming. I think she was only Robin for like three issues so that doesn't give it much of an impact. Especially since they pretty much ignored her being Robin after she died unless it was to say what a failure she was. And if you overlook her sex it's still pretty shady since the only bat kids treated like this were poor. I think someone even called Steph white trash in the aftermath comics.

I'm not saying it's all Didios' fault but the whole thing disgusts me.
