DC January Solicits

A few of my pull list are on this since I had nothing really to say although there are a few surprises.

JUSTICE LEAGUE 3000 #13 Written by KEITH GIFFEN and J.M. DeMATTEIS
Art and cover by HOWARD PORTER
On sale JANUARY 7 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US • RATED T
Winter’s coming to the future, and with it comes the frost queen herself: Ice! But is she the same hero the Justice League once knew? Maybe reuniting with old friends will warm her soul…or perhaps she just needs to create a little Fire!

Another of my favorite characters ends up being immortal. Interesting if nothing else.

WORLDS FINEST #30
I'm just posting this because I don't know what's going on with this womans' costume.
SUPERGIRL #38

Likewise I don't know what to make of this.

BATGIRL #38

This one caught my eye because it seems to be a little...odd. I liked most of the Flash variant but not this one. It's a homage to her first appearance when she shocked the guys by introducing herself. I don't like the concept of Barry taking her by surprise and giving us a thumbs up. It just feels sheevy.
SINESTRO #9

Most of the variants seem to have a "what the hell just happened/what are you doing" vibe. I think this is my favorite because all the GLs are cheering Flash and Sinestro is just puzzled over the whole thing. I think his more subtle reaction as Barrys' rear passes him by sells it.
HARLEY QUINN #14

I love how annoyed Batman looks, which makes sense considering the path Flash traveled to get past him. The notes make this more amusing. I assume Harley or Joker wrote them. I guess Harley and him are just confused because this isn't the Flash they know of. Also the little hearts? That makes this even more priceless.
CATWOMAN #38
The absolute shock on their faces and Flashs' harsh expression make this look like one of those PSA comics. Like all of them can't believe she slashed Robins' shirt and made him look even more indecent. Barry will be dropping some Flash facts soon.
RED HOOD AND THE OUTLAWS #38 Written by SCOTT LOBDELL
Art and cover by R.B. SILVA
On sale JANUARY 21 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US • RATED T
Jason Todd risks everything to save Starfire as he takes on Crux high over the skies above Arkham Asylum! He may be outmatched, but Jason Todd has a new secret weapon: the power of the super-drug Venom.

On the one hand I'm thrilled to see Crux back and hope Lobdells' original idea for him will still go through. On the other I was kinda hoping this drug storyline would be over. Granted I'd rather read about this than the awful things I've been hearing about Batman Eternal.

  1. I have to admit that I'm enjoying most of the Flash covers. Some of them are just adorable.

  2. Most of them are very cute. I guess we'll be getting Dick Grayson/Robin variants too
