Why do people think Kate was in on it?

I skimmed some responses to RHATO and I didn't get this at all.

Why would Bizarro tell Kate--someone he's never worked with before--something he wouldn't tell his teammates? He has no reason to trust her and went out of his way to bait her. If he needed her to be in on it he would have confronted her directly like he does with Waller. All of the DET. team is around Kate so that would mean they'd all know too.

Bizarro knows how to get what he wants from Kate and Waller as well as how to approach them. I can't see her deciding to go over Jason's head to work with an outsider she doesn't know. Yes I think it's more than a little weird that Kate would send the Outlaws to Waller especially given her past with the DEO. But I thought that was the point since Future Tim blamed her for the crappy future. She's not making a sound judgement call and went about the whole thing wrong.

Is it possible for it to happen ? I guess anything is possible but given the misunderstanding set up we got it seems unlikely.

And no, I don't blame Jason at all for not informing Kate of his mission.

  • Kate ignored Jason and wouldn't bother to explain own actions. I doubt she would have listened given the way she acted to them. Her attitude was bad and there was a slim chance she'd listen anyway. She had already ordered the kidnapping of Bizarro instead of simply asking Jason or contacting Batman. At no point did she indicate she cared or respected what he had to say.
  • Bruce should have already informed her as he works closely with her. If she knew and still reacted that way there's no point in telling her again.
  • If Bruce didn't inform her there may be a reason for it. Clayface isn't someone that should know. I don't see Jason blabbing it in front of him and the rest of he  team in the off chance Kate would care.
  • Jason has no idea why Kate kidnapped Bizarro and is assuming she didn't know their mission. We know there's more to the story but he's assuming it's based solely on them being Outlaws.
  • Kate was at least aware he's connected to family and was in charge. She purposely disrespected him and decided how things would be done. She never gave him the chance to explain.

So no I didn't read Jason's pondering as it being his fault for being "petty." If anything Kate was being petty for doing the whole thing because Bizarro taunted them, not wanting to explain herself and tossing them to Waller.
