Yeah, pretty sure it doesn't work like that

I didn't read most of the Detective Comics preview but enough people mentioned this one thing for me to take a look.

SPOILERS AHEAD

First the bone spur, I'm not in the medical profession but know that you can't just kick something to set it right. I had a teacher that used to go on about the Lethal Weapon movies showing Gibson banging his arm back in the socket and how you don't fix things--especially related to bones--by basically assaulting them.

Second, Tynion is still under the impression the Lazarus Pit brought Jason back to life? No, the only time that's been the case in the main comics is when he was suggesting it. The main Jason Todd writers Winick and Lobdell both had Jason digging his way out of his grave. In Lobdell's case he has Talia flat out state Jason was physically fine and the only reason he was put into the pit in this version was to restore his soul. The Lazarus Pit has never worked like Tynion is suggesting. If it did we'd hear about it rather than just see everyone being dumped in with no preparation.

Third, you're telling me no one, none of the Al Ghuls or Batman have noticed this? The Al Ghuls who know the pits the best and had no idea how Jason came back to life? In Winick's version Ra's had his people study the dirt in Jason's grave since he's obsessed with cheating death and he has no idea how Jason did it. So you're telling me they didn't notice and Talia just set Jason off to train. And I doubt Bruce would miss such a detail.

  1. And that is without taking into account that the kind of strenuous physical activity Jason does would've made obvious an injury like that years ago.

  2. That's what I meant by sending him to go off and train. Jason was considered a miracle by Talia and Ra's is obsessed with cheating death. There's no way Jason wouldn't be checked out if this occurred in pits or be prepared properly before being put in.

If I recall right one of the descriptions of Jason's injuries had a crushed lung and skull fraction. If Jason wasn't already healed like Lobdell suggests and the pit works like Tynion is saying then Jason would have been far worse off !
