Dick Graysons' Dark Turn

We all remember the plans to kill Dick off in Infinite Crisis, right? According to this article there were earlier plans to make him Batmans' greatest enemy. Granted this has been done in a couple Elseworlds stories so it doesn't shock me too much. Devin Grayson wrote the Nightwing arc where he became Renegade too. There was also a point where DC seemed too invested in making timelines like Kingdom Comes and Dark Knight mesh some with the main timeline. That's part of the plan here as both are talked about in this Crisis 2 idea.

  1. Interetingly enough, nearly all of those echoes saw the light eventually. Although Jason was the one picking up the nemesis title per Battle for the Cowl

  2. Yeah, I was thinking that was why they agreed to bring Jason back but even that didn't work out. Fans rejected that idea and want him to be an anti-hero over a flat out villain. I recall Didio saying Jason got the most request for a solo which is amazing if you think about it.

  3. I can't help but wonder if Didio is either a fan of Jason or if he considers Jason sort of a pet character. He has given him a lot of attention.

    1. I never got that impression I thought he was surprised by the amount of attention Jason got. He wanted to justify his chose to bring Jason back and couldn't make him into a villain. After numerous failures he seemed to finally listen to the fans who demanded a more heroic role.

Jasons' titles have mostly been ignored for variants--being the only one of the Robins that doesn't get them--including the 75th anniversary variants. Damian is appearing in his second animated feature with Dick (I don't think Tim or Jason exist in that world.) Tim is appearing in two books and was in two weekly comics. Dick is getting a big push.

Other than RHA and Arkham Knight Jason isn't really in anything else at the moment. Nothing I can think of anyway.

    2. Spoiler for Arkham Knight are flowing over the net and, well, I can't say that I'm entirely sold on how they used Jason in the game
