How are comics edited?
With the Syaf controversy and other such incidences I wonder how comics are being edited. I once heard that the editors don't proof read the books for grammar, spelling mistakes and art problems so much as make sure certain things are or aren't in the books. I don't think it's continuity because, well, books don't carry the same portrayals or nods to some solo titles. Is it just allusion to bigger titles? I'm not trying to belittle the work of editors I'm just not sure what's true or not. I can understand some things slipping under the radar but other bits like Colossus' shirt kind of demand some questions.

I have been wondering what editors do for a loooong time as well.
ReplyDeleteSo far I know they can keep you from putting something in if you talk to them or let you do an idea. Otherwise I'm confused.
ReplyDeleteIt also frequently seems that the editors have never bothered to actually read the back issues of the very books they are editing.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I get the impression there's not enough communication in general.
