25 Days of Supporting Characters: Skeets

#2 Skeets

Boosters' robot pal and former co-worker at the museum he worked at. His history teacher, "couch", and most importantly his friend.

Why he's important to Booster: Skeets helped Booster adjust to the past by providing information and acting as his conscience. Booster views Skeets as a lifeform telling his sister not to "hurt his feelings" and often acts distraught when the robot is damaged. While Jurgens has teased that Rip has updated this version and we the readers can take that however we want. Skeets' loyalty to Booster overrides his trust in Rip when he refused to provide any information on his scan on Black Beetle. While he has disagreed with Booster he has never willfully betrayed or left him. It's a bickering bond but the two truly care for each other. In years to come Skeets will still be with the Carter family as Booster raises his son.

Suggested Reading: Booster Gold #2 Vol.2  Yes there are many great Skeets moments but I chose this one for one reason. Skeets hitting Sinstro in the head while yelling "No man escapes the Manhunters!"

  1. There is just SOMEthing about snarky little robots. I simply love Skeets with a white hot passion. I miss L-Ron too, dagnabit. Batman is probably jealous that HE doen't have a Skeets.

  2. I don't know, I always saw Skeets as a robot superhero version of Alfred. ;)
